The history of our winery begins with Josep Tutusaus Andres, born in 1923 in Pontons, a village with a deep winemaking tradition due to its location in the highest part of Alt Penedès.

A devoted lover of the local wines, Josep decided to start producing his own vintages, striving to achieve the highest quality. After several years of making wine for personal consumption and seeing its success among neighbors, he founded Bodegas Xamós. With 15 hectares of old vines over 60 years of age, located between 600 and 700 meters above sea level, influenced by northern winds and just 20 km from the sea, he achieved a late ripening that, combined with meticulous care in every stage of production, resulted in cavas that captivate.

A balanced proportion of grapes from the Macabeo, Xarel·lo, and especially the native Parellada variety gives our cava its unique character.

Following the tradition of its founder, Bodegas Xamós continues to craft cava with the same dedication that has always defined the style of the winery. Deeply in love with their land, the Tutusaus family remains proud that a product born from the heart of their village reaches so many corners of the world and continues to delight all who enjoy it.
